The volunteer Facilities Planning Committee recommended the district take a three-step approach to prepare for anticipated growth in Boyd ISD.

  1. PLANNING - COMPLETED

The district’s volunteer Facilities Planning Committee (FPC) met for 6 months & reviewed demographic/capacity reports, facilities assessments, and financial information. It focused on anticipated capacity issues due to community growth, aging facilities, & master planning for future district facilities.

Student enrollment is anticipated to more than double by 2032/33

2. DESIGN - COMPLETED

The Board of Trustees considered the FPC’s recommendation and decided to follow it in two phases. The first phase included the following projects and were on the November 2024 ballot:

Site infrastructure to support future schools (e.g., sewer, water, & roads)

Construction documents for a 600-student intermediate school

New HVAC units at all existing schools & facilities

Purchase of 73+ acres of land for future school sites

The bond proposal of $20,000,000 had a tax impact of 3.5 cents per $100 valuation. Click the button for more tax information.

3. CONSTRUCTION - CURRENT PHASE

The third phase includes placing a second bond on the November 2025 ballot. This bond would fund the actual construction of the new 600-student intermediate school.
